About
Hi, I’m Brooke Ary, and I believe art has a special way of unlocking emotions, fostering understanding, and helping us connect with ourselves and others.
With a Bachelor of Fine Arts, a Bachelor of Teaching, and a Diploma of Art Therapy, I bring a deep commitment and genuine care to my work as an art therapist.
Over the past 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of working with neurodivergent and additional needs children, as well as groups and families, using art as a tool for healing and growth.
Before stepping fully into art therapy, I spent 10 years as a high school art teacher and 11 years teaching in primary schools, helping children of all abilities express themselves, build confidence, and explore their creativity.
These experiences shaped my heartfelt dedication to creating spaces where art serves as both a therapeutic tool and a way for people to connect more deeply with themselves and the world around them.
In my art therapy practice, I embrace two key approaches:
Art IN Therapy: Using art to help process and express emotions or experiences that feel too big or complex for words.
Art AS Therapy: Engaging in creative processes without judgment or purpose, connecting deeply to the subconscious. This supports fine motor development, emotional resilience, and congruence—aligning one’s internal and external worlds for greater self-understanding and balance.
